Jim brings energy and knows networking well. It takes on its own energy by the size of it and the benefits are the one-on-ones you have privately. I’m comfortable there, I know the folks and they have been good to me. The more you give, the more you get. Some friends I met here were having lunch in Costa Rica last week and I got a referral from them which is 5 years later. The fella said “I understand you are the only guy to buy promotional products from.” So it keeps working. - Allan Chase, ARC Promotional Design
I’ve been getting up early for the past 7 years to go network. It’s been great. I can attribute 33% of my business today to the Networking Austin group. We are one of the top 10 janitorial service companies in Austin as rated by the Book of Lists published by the Austin Business Journal. This is directly related to Networking Austin.
It is relaxed—no high pressure. It is a lot easier for people to speak as it is not officially timed where you have to get out a speech in 30 seconds. That puts people at ease because it is not so strict and regimented. You don’t have to check your personal hat at the door like other groups. Where else can you have a sales force of 50 for $128 per month? You always educate your “sales force” on something new every week. These are the guys that truly get it, they understand it. You are here to educate your extended sales force and get to know them as well. Once you have achieved that and when someone asks you for a something someone in the group provides, it makes for a stronger referral. Folks that know what they are doing and get it, prosper. Have lunch, have coffee and truly care that the other members do well.
It’s a wonderful deal. I would advise anyone to join. No other group has a staying power like this one. It is definitely uncharacteristic of other networking groups in Austin.
I remember one of our very first commercial accounts we got on the sole fact of not what you knew, but who you knew. This gentleman had contacted Jim and said he needed to change companies. I didn’t even have to sell the client. It was just the mere formality of answering “when can you start?” If every deal could be handed to you on a silver platter with a gold fork, eat up son! It’s like a tree with many branches and the seed was planted at Networking Austin. It led me from one residential job to another and another. We are one of the few companies in Austin that does both residential and commercial work. We now do 1500 cleanings per year for the residential side. And on the commercial side we clean 600,000 square feet of office space. - Stuart Osantowski, Castle Cleaning
